Number of in Poverty Increases by nearly 4 Million in Thailand

This is a very powerful article, though unfortunately in Thai which lists out a few interesting points. First I'll point to the article:

Other than that I'll list a few quick points of interest before I got to quickly run to work:
1) 1 million baht fund per vilage has been a complete failure as it only brought increase buying/spending by villagers who became more reliant on easy credit that has been touted by this government.
2) After increasing the poverty line in line with inflation rates, the actual figure of people under the poverty line is up to 8.8 or up from 6 million since the start of the tenure. The poverty line is 1163 baht per annual per person.
3) There was government pressure to intervene with the GDP and other economic figure values to make the government in good light.
4) There were numerous reshuffles in the agencies involved - that might be influenced with part 3.
