One of the most cynical expressions I've ever heard goes like this: "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." Some of the most world-weary purveyors of this belief also like to provide the following addendum: "And those who can't teach, criticize."

Incedentally I've just read that column a little while before you posted it. This isn't to say that critics are useless, but more like as the column said that they should be aware of their situation as compared to those of the "doer" and be willing to take as much as they're willing to dish out.
On an interesting note, isn't it interesting where this article came from? It sort of shows how much ethics this particular guy has eventhough the subject of his critique can be though of as much less important when compared to that of say, newspapers and news. Shows you the effort put into it and importance given to the critique I think.
